What is a good wedding budget breakdown?

A common starting point is 45–50% for venue, food and drink, 10–12% for photography and video, 8–10% each for attire and flowers, 5–8% for music, and a 5–10% buffer.

Where do the averages come from?

The Knot 2026 Real Weddings Study of 10,474 US couples married in 2025. They are reference points, not targets.
